GST calculator
Add GST to a price or take it out of an inclusive amount, with the CGST/SGST or IGST split for your quotation or invoice.
How it’s calculated
The method, in plain terms.
Adding GST: GST = amount × rate; total = amount + GST.
Removing GST: taxable value = amount ÷ (1 + rate); GST = amount − taxable value.
For supplies within a state, GST is split equally into CGST and SGST. For supplies between states, the full amount is IGST.
What are the current GST rates in India?
Since 22 September 2025 most goods and services fall under 5% or 18%, with 40% for specified goods, plus special rates such as 0%, 0.25% and 3%. Check the rate for your specific HSN/SAC code.
How do I remove GST from an inclusive price?
Divide the inclusive amount by 1 plus the rate (for 18%, divide by 1.18). The result is the taxable value; the difference is GST.
When do I charge CGST + SGST and when IGST?
CGST + SGST apply when supplier and customer are in the same state; IGST applies to inter-state supplies.
Can your ERP generate GST quotations automatically?
Yes — our custom ERP/CRM includes a quotation builder that applies CGST/SGST or IGST automatically.
